Gateway FX6800-03 Gaming Desktop PC Review from Marie. Can’t create back up discs – terrible customer service!!!!, I got this computer less than 2 months ago. Gateway has issues with this computer in that you are unable to create your back up discs. (They are NOT included with the computer!) Gateway customer service is in India and if you do manage to get through, you can barely understand them. After everal hours of frustration through their live on-line chat and trying to work this out with their customer service reps, I am left frustrated! They asked that I download something that will correct this “Error code:205″ that I get when I try to create the discs. That didn’t work after numerous tries, so I asked them to mail me the discs. They wanted to charge me $20.00 and told me my software was out of warranty. After only 45 days? They had my information for registration incorrect so I had to fax over my receipt. Now I get to wait 48 hours so they can update their information and call India again! The tech wanted me to mail my computer to Texas so that they could repair it because it was missing some things from the hard drive and there could be issues if I ever tried to restore the computer. They admit there is a problem, but won’t give me a new computer. Have they been selling this model knowing that there is an issue????? If I send it in for repair, what am I supposed to do while my computer is in Texas? I use it for work everyday. I tried to contact CompUSA where I bought it. After 14 days – you are out of luck. My husband had bought it for me as a birthday present, so unfortunately I didn’t get to open it right away to discover the problem. My next computer will be a MAC!
